The Laboratory is involved in research and elaboration of techniques applicable to handling complex production and business systems working in the uncertain, changing environments, with special emphasis on artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches. Our goal is to solve hard engineering, economic and financial problems by the development, integration and application of artificial intelligence and combinatorial optimization methods.

Our main research areas are as follows:

• modelling, control and optimization of technical and business processes,
• handling changes and disturbances in complex systems
• distributed modelling of extended enterprises and production networks
• modelling and simulation of large production and business systems, digital factories
